Fan Rentals

During the summer, Brown students and visiting students can rent fans. Fans are also available for purchase at any time for $20.

  1. What type of fan do you offer?

    2. We carry Lasko 20" Box Fans featuring a lightweight design and three whisper quiet speeds.

  2. Do I need to reserve a fan?

    3. No, we have a large number of fans in stock and will not encounter a shortage.

  3. What is the cost to rent a fan?

    4. For each fan, there is a $5 rental fee and $20 deposit.

  4. Where can I rent a fan?

    5. Fans may be rented at Wayland Arch on Sundays from 9 AM until 2 PM.

  5. How do I retrieve my initial deposit?

    6. Deposits will be refunded at Wayland Arch on Friday from 11 AM until 2 PM.

    Unfortunately, deposits cannot be refunded for fans left in dormitory rooms. Brown Student Agencies does not have access to these rooms and thus cannot pickup fans.

  6. What if I can't return the fan on Friday between 11 AM and 2 PM?

    7. You can return your fan at our office in room 024 of Faunce House between during office hours Monday through Wednesday, 10 AM to 4 PM. The office is not open at other times; thus, we cannot accept fans on Thursday, Saturday, or Sunday.

  7. What if I returned my fan late?

    8. If you have not returned your fan by 2 PM Friday, you can bring it to the Student Activities Office on the first floor of Faunce House and fill out a late return form. Late returns will only be reimbursed $10 of their $20 deposit. Checks will be mailed to the address provided.
