How Student Backup Works
The student installs the software to their computer with a few clicks and a moment or two of install time.
Every night, the software will automatically send important school files to a secure off-site location managed by Student Backup for encrypted storage.
When the student checks their e-mail every morning, they will find a “Backup Successful!” message, so they can start the day knowing that their work is safe.
If disaster strikes and a file or computer becomes damaged, the student can simply log onto the Student
Backup site (24/7/365), enter their encryption code, and files will be sent back to them within 5-10 minutes.
Why Student Backup is Necessary
Computers are not currently equipped with services to back up files to a safe location. A dropped laptop, spilled coffee, misplaced computer or late-night keystroke error are all potentially fatal to term papers, exam notes and other critical files.
A recent survey of college students revealed that over 40% had lost valuable school work due to hard drive failure, computer virus or other technical problems.
Over 60% of students responded that losing a file or data was a legitimate fear.
Over 80% of students responded that they backed up their files once per year or not at all! This means that daily work was never backed up!
The Best Solution for Students
While devices like flash drives are useful, they require students to remember to back up files each day and to manually select the files to store.
Student Backup is automatic! All word processing documents, spreadsheets, presentations and PDF documents are automatically stored each night without needing to be pre-selected.

Over the summer, we will print and mail a letter to the parents of your on-campus students offering Student Backup at a discounted price.
